The field of disability has experienced profound transformations over the past five decades in most post-industrial societies. This phenomenon has influenced theoretical approaches and research within different scientific disciplines including neuroscience.

The development and implementation of neurological rehabilitation adapted to impairments, activity limitations and participation restrictions, regardless of the age and place of life of the person concerned, includes the design and the implementation of innovative responses to support these people and their close entourage. These responses must be the result of coherent and ambitious research policies in the field of clinical and integrative neurosciences.
